No. Free works the moment you install. Premium is a license key emailed at checkout, with no sign-up. If you lose it, recover it at plainmarkdown.com/my-key.
Up to 5. Getting a fresh key at plainmarkdown.com/my-key resets your devices.
Chrome, Brave, and other Chromium-based browsers.
Free converts any page to clean Markdown, in an editor you can work in, and copies or downloads it. Premium is a lifetime license that adds three things: capturing a whole thread or many tabs at once, sending straight to Obsidian, Readwise and Notion, and AI prompts on your own OpenRouter or OpenAI key.
Start it from the extension's settings with your email. You get 14 days of the full Premium AI surface, running through your own OpenRouter or OpenAI key that you paste into the extension. Your page content goes straight to your provider and never reaches our server, with no monthly cap. No card needed, but you do need an API key.
No. You pay $10 once and keep it. AI usage is billed by your AI provider under your own account, not by us.
With Premium, in the trial and after you buy, you bring your own key and pick any model per prompt. An OpenRouter key covers 200+ models from the major providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and more); an OpenAI key uses OpenAI's models directly.
Page conversion runs entirely in your browser. AI prompts go straight from your browser to your AI provider using your own key, so your page content never reaches our server.
On your device, encrypted, in the extension's local storage. It never syncs across your browsers and never reaches our servers.
